Aikido H20

Torrey Pines Aiki Kai of No. CA takes non-violence seriously. An elegant, approachable web site went up to grow this community group's findability and its student pool. This pro-bono site was a collboration between Scope 3 Design and Ernest Holland, an Aikido instructor and educator. Most information design, graphic design, and page coding is by Scope 3 Design.

Defining the Problem
Torrey Pines Aiki Kai of Northern California had a hard time spreading basic class information and sharing its wealth of knowledge with its students.
Defining the Audience
Men and women, 28 years old on average. Students enjoy the traditional structure of the Aikido class practice and the pause from their busy day.
Exploring Creative Solutions
The resulting web site synthesizes the delivery of the abundance of knowledge with a clean design which also emphasises quick access. The color and layout reflect the clutter free feeling the students experience on the mat.
